Returning Materials Policy

Items borrowed from UH Libraries can be returned to any library, any UH system library or the UH Law Center library.

Return books to service desks and/or return slots located inside the library. An after-hours book drop is located on University Drive (between MD Anderson Library and the South Student Center walkway), or the book drop located in the breezeway of the School of Art building.

Reserve materials should always be handed to a staff member as they have a shorter loan period. Placing reserve items in the book return slot can delay processing and result in fines.

Media such as DVDs, videocassettes, and CDs should never be placed in the book return, as these items may be damaged in the process. Fees are charged for damaged library materials.

If you need a receipt, please speak to a staff member and request a receipt listing the books that you are returning.

Use your library catalog account to review your account, renew materials and place holds on library materials. Items borrowed through interlibrary loan can be managed with ILLiad.
