Faculty Delivery Service

The faculty delivery service sends library materials directly to faculty via department mailboxes. All faculty in all UH main departments are eligible for this service.

In most cases, items are delivered within 2 business days.

Graduate students are not eligible for faculty delivery. We are unable to send faculty deliveries to off-campus locations.

Faculty delivery for UH items

Items owned by UH Libraries can be requested using the catalog.

On the catalog page for an item, select the Request button () at the top of the page and log-in to your account. Under Pickup Location, select “Faculty Delivery.”

The item will be checked out to your library account and delivered to your department mailbox within 2 business days.

Faculty delivery for interlibrary loan items

Interlibrary loan (ILL) items are requested using ILLiad. If you are a first time ILL user, please create an ILLiad account. A CougarNet account and UH email address are required.

Change your default delivery location in ILLiad to “Faculty Delivery” to use the faculty delivery service for ILL items:

  1. Login to ILLiad.
  2. Under Tools, select “Change User Information.”
  3. Under Delivery Location, select “Faculty Delivery.”

Once you’ve submitted the change, all ILL items you request will be forwared to your department mailbox. Once the ILL department recieves your item, it will be delivered to the mailbox within 2 business days.

Returning items

Place borrowed materials in your departmental return boxes to return them. All materials, including ILL items, can be returned this way.

If your department does not have a return box, you can return your item to any campus library or in any book drop on campus.
