Visitors are welcome to use library spaces during normal open hours. Every person entering the MD Anderson Library must present a valid photo ID. A valid ID is a mobile, digital, or physical University of Houston Cougar Card, or a physical government-issued ID.

Parking at the Welcome Center Garage

The main visitor parking for MD Anderson Library is in the Welcome Center Garage located at 4400 University Drive, Houston, TX 77204. It’s on the corner of University Drive and Martin Luther King Blvd, with the main entrance located on Martin Luther King Blvd. See the Garage parking rates.

Walking Directions to Library from Welcome Center

From the Welcome Center Garage, take the elevator or stairs to the ground floor. Head towards University Drive. Facing University Drive, turn left and follow the sidewalk past the University Hilton, toward the Ezekiel W. Cullen Building.

Turn right at the Ezekiel W. Cullen Building, walking in front of the theater entrance, and continue towards Butler Plaza. MD Anderson Library will be at your right, take the steps or ramp to the entrance doors.

Non-UH Visitor Check-in at the security desk located top left of the steps. You will need a physical government-issued ID to check in.
Planned Visitor A designated library representative will be waiting to greet you inside the foyer.
Special Collections Visitor Check-in at the security desk located top left of the steps. You will need a government ID to check in. Once past the turnstiles, take the grand staircase up to the second floor. Special Collections is directly in front of the staircase. Elevators are also available along the wall, just past the base of the grand staircase.
Elizabeth D Rockwell Pavilion Attendee Upon entry, take the spiral staircase to your right to the second floor. The Elizabeth D. Rockwell Pavilion will be directly in front of you. An elevator is also available left of the stairs.
