New Resources

UH Libraries selects new resources—like books, journals, and databases—based on how well they support the university’s teaching and research. Here are the key things we consider:

  1. Relevance: Supports UH courses, research, and learning needs, often chosen with input from students and faculty.
  2. Affordability: Offers good value and fits within our budget.
  3. Access & Technology: Resources meet UH authentication standards, are compatible with our systems, and place minimal limitations on usage.
  4. Ease of Use & Privacy: Simple to use, protects user privacy, meets university data security requirements, and doesn’t require complicated setup or maintenance.
  5. Accessibility: Designed to be usable by everyone, following web accessibility standards.
