This portfolio supports student learning and scholarly engagement by connecting learners and researchers to expertise, resources, and communities of practice that enhance teaching, research, and scholarship across the University.

 

Student Success

  • Enhance and amplify open educational resources (OER) priorities
  • Activate newly established curriculum mapping protocols for undergraduate courses
  • Engage in curriculum mapping for graduate students in partnership with UH Graduate School
  • Expand online learning (synchronous/asynchronous) and face-to-face teaching efforts; develop a centralized online learning hub for all instruction assets
  • Experiment with new software to implement point-of-need teaching materials
  • Expand critical partnerships with stakeholder services across campus (e.g., Writing Center, Office of Undergraduate Research, etc.)
  • Re-envision hybrid teaching and learning spaces within the Libraries such that classrooms foster active learning similar to R1 research universities (Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education) across the country
  • Develop co-curricular support inclusive of a variety of student groups, interests, and disciplines
  • Develop and refine peer mentor approaches to student learning and engagement
 

Nationally Competitive Research

  • Develop targeted support for capstone and other research-intensive courses
  • Extensively map the research and learning lifecycle across Libraries’ departmental specialists
  • Host research symposia and institutes that engage researchers in discovery and ideation
  • Build research fellowships and other incentivized pathways with UH Graduate School, Office of Undergraduate Research, and others
  • Establish core facility for digital humanities in partnership with the Division of Research
  • Establish and promote Research Visibility and Impact program, focusing on graduate students, researchers, and faculty
 

Social Responsibility

  • Ensure instruction and consultation support is as inclusive as possible
  • Focus on programming to support all diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Become drivers of open scholarship and open publishing
